Will the 750 charge a 96 volt DC battery pack? If so, at what amperage and rpm. If not, do you have anything that will? Im looking for a hi voltage and hi amperage output.
The Windtura 750 will work on a 96 volt DC battery pack if you have the ability to spin the Windtura 750 at approximately 1000 rpm or higher (You need to generate at least 96 VDC from the Windtura 750 to charge a 96 VDC battery bank). On a wind turbine, this is not possible because you would need at least 25-30 mph wind to hit this rpm. On a hydro generator set-up or using a gas engine to spin the Windtura 750, 1000 rpm's is easily achievable. We have a customer in the UK who uses a steam engine to spin the Windtura 750 at approximately 2500 rpm and he generates a constant 2000 Watts. This 2000 Watts is fed into a Wind Boy Grid Tie. Here is a video of open circuit voltage vs. rpm: http://www.windynation.com/videos/generator/windtura-750-open-circuit-voltage Lastly, we will have a higher voltage Windtura generator in about 6 months.
WindyFaq, When will the higher voltage pma be out and available? I have a project I am starting in a few weeks and it may be what I need.
