    Well, I'm looking to buy the blades and generator to hook up to SUN GTI A simple setup like Larry's HY1000 but a 1kw VAWT...

    Have you looked at these from AdvancePower? I can't speak for their quality, but they look like most conventionally designed VAWTs coming out of China nowadays.

    I'll be interested to see what you end up doing and the output you get. I've always been intrigued by VAWTs, but as I've researched them it seems most of the folks I read discourage their use because of questionable reliability and reduced output compared to traditional vertical turbines.
