Got about $10,000? ... you too can have one of your very own! 6-feet of raw rooftop power. First one goes up in Maine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaLlnOSTK3U Background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lupwk-3-2aY http://www.windtronics.com/ I have estimated the payback time to be over 50 years. Perhaps I'll get 2 and cut that time in half. (salesman math)
Hi Minnesota, Other than cost ... a certain disqualifier, how does the rest of the math play out? Windswept area vs rated production (I couldn't find anything regarding output other than up to 1500 kWh's per year depending on height and location.) Kind of light on the specs, aren't they. Roof box QuadPod system but 33' higher or more above obstructions recommended ... seems a tad contradictory. I found it amusing that in one of the videos the rooftop Honeywell was not even slightly turning. Guess Honeywell finally decided to cash in on the www.Backshed.com Fisher & Paykel concept. Thanks for the entertainment! Dave
I did a vid last fall on their power claims .... they claim more power than is technically possible. I removed the vid because I got some "we will come after you" pressure, and I don't need the hassle. This venture will be a total failure. I'd love to see how it behaves after a snow/ice storm. The thing would be either stuck frozen till spring or be so out of balance that it would destroy itself in the first good wind. What a nightmare.
