I found this online. Called a scissors tail.

Supposed to keep the turbine turned into the wind during turbulence. Claiming up to 15% improvement in power. Seems also the same as the 15% dead zone of a normal tail that keeps it seeking all the time in turbulence.
And then the light went on while looking at it. Would it be possible to design this with one side spring loaded? :geek: And make an easier furling system.

Wind slowed down long enough to put it up today. :D

Will see how it goes and let everyone know. :geek:

Had some wind today. Gusts to 20 mph and it changes direction really quick every time the direction changes so far. And when it gets to the new spot there is an increase in speed of the blades.

Is there a reason the tail is open..Looks heavy but that could be good...I like it,hope is track and holds true into the wind for you :D

The tail is open to better track the wind. The straight tails have a dead spot when they are directly in the wind. They are slow to make changes. Also in light wind it will track wind changes too. Where before I had to wait for more wind for it to turn into the wind. Mine is turbulent but this tail makes it follow the wind changes alot better than the old one.
This tail design is actually lighter than my old one. I had a weight in the old one.

It looks like you annameter is behind the blades.Optical illusion? if not it will not give you true readings

Optical illusion....It is about 2 ft below the blade tips.
