This is the results of a study I did on staggering PV panels. Each would have to have their own GTI or charge controller. This can be an alternative to adding a tracking array.

    Thanks Minnesota,
You are right. I can tell that does work as that is what i am doing. The front of my house faces East. Great power for the winter and up to about Noon or so i the summer. The back faces west and i have panels angled SW on that part . I also have a south facing peek on our addition that has panels on that as well. All but two of my roof panles have Enphase inverters (grid tie). So, i do have production all day long. Enphase inverters are perfect for this situation.
    Thanks for the info.

What would be cool is a enphase-like charge controller per panel feeding a DC bus to the battery bank.

  4. can u use a wind power GTI with a solar panel?

Yes. Somewhere in this forum i have that posted with my battery system. Can you explain why you would want to?

  6. well I have a spare 300 watt wind GTI and I just got a 240 watt panel so I want to hook it right to the GTI if I can. the same way I have my turbines that run right to the back of their GTI with no batterys.thank ya.

Very Cool.k since that gti has a dump on it you could also tie something to the dump control if the power goes down. A light load but may a heating element ro a small bat bank just do not exceed the relay rating in amps for th dump controller. Good luck

  8. I have a 12v 7 amp battery hooked to it.

Yes, you could you would need a little charge controller to be hooked up to the battery. If the power is out during the day for long time and the GTI is dumping to the battery, you would need soemething to keep the battery under control. So you could make this a grid tie battery back up system but with that small battery it will not run much. If that is all you have for a battery then maybe just dumping from the GTI may be a better cost effictive way. The good thing is you do have a few choices to play with.

  10. well that battery is a test, I have 2 12v batterys at 500 amp each wired in paralell that is running my 25 mile electric fence charger, I will wire in a 20 amp fuse and hook them to the dump.

Ok, yes you can at first do a test with that battery. I would certainly recommend starting with a few test before you proceed to the final 500 AH bats. Since you now got the idea. You need to look inside the (GTI) dump controller find the relay for the dump controller and fuse it what it is rated for or find out what it is rated at. You do not want to pull any more amps through it then what it is rated for. I know the 500 G's are like 16 amps for their dump relay. Take it nice and slow and be smart about it and you will have good sucess.

  12. what if I put a blocking diode in the line so I get no back feed?

Yes, that will will have to do too.

  14. Wow, so nice of you dear. Those are really wonderful accessories. I want to get some application in my android phone. How much price for the dock program and I want to install a software names gigamade.

    Just search WANF on Ebay.

Minnesota I checked Aliexpress min is like $40 with shipping included. Amazon is 16.99 + shipping. Ebay if you search for WANF it changes it to Wand and shows you those. Power Usage monitor gives you mostly Killawatt meters but no wanf ones.

You're right. There used to be 2 sellers but I don't see them anymore. Thanks.

  20. Hey Minnesota, TomT and Leamy
I have this local guy that is selling solar panels out of a delivery truck and comes to town twice a month and sells this panel for $230 no tax. I have looked at them and they look like the real thing and come wrapped up on a pallet and he opens the pallet and let you look at anyone you want and pick the ones you want and will let you test them if needed. Do you feel this is a good deal. He will only sell 10 per person for some reason. I'm building a tracker now and want to add solar to my Wind system.
