Rover in high winds

    How does this turbine handle storm winds? Our winds reach 60 plus MPH fairly regularly

    Yes, the Rover can handle 60 plus mph wind.

    There are two important things to remember:

    1. The Rover must be fused. A 20 amp auto reset circuit breaker is recommend for 24 volt systems and a 30 amp auto reset circuit breaker is recommended for 12 volt systems. This will prevent any damage to the copper stator in a high wind event.

    2. A stop switch is highly recommended. If you know a high wind event is on the horizon and you are around, engage the stop switch during the high wind event.
