Power Chart for the 500 and 750 PMA in RPM?

    Has anyone ever characterized the PMAs (such as on a lathe) charging a 12V and 24V battery bank, and capturing the RPMs?

    This would be extremely helpful in determining the optimum rotor diameter for various blade designs as well as very helpful for non-wind applications such as hydro.

    It should be rather easy to do.

    I will see if I can do it. A machinist I know has an old 2 hp Bridgeport mill in his garage. We can chuck up a PMA and get some readings if it is alright with my friend. We most likely will have to build some type of adaptor to hold the PMA because I think he only has collets to hold end mills. Also, I believe it is a pulley/belt machine which means we can only do certain pre-determined rpm's. I will have to check to see if there is even enough rpm settings in the 0-1500 rpm range to collect enough data to make the results meaningful.
