I am a newbie and have a big mess of everything now, would like to know if anyone has a wiring diagram of the way everything should be hooked up. It would be a huge help to me. I have a wind turbine, solar, 12 volt battery ,c60 charge controller, and a GTI. Or a point in the right direction where I find this info Thanks
I hope this helps and anyone can add to this. Wind Turbine to rectifier to battery pos and negative. Stop switch can be added before rectifier. Solar add diode to positive side and then to battery. Negative wire to battery. Disconnect can be added before diode. Battery POS to Battery POS on controller. Disconnect can be added between battery and controller. Battery NEG to Battery NEG on controller. Diversion Load terminals on Controller to Dump Load or to GTI. C60 Controller has to be set up for Diversion Control Mode for this to work.
I would start with reading the C60 Owner's Manual. If you are wiring the wind and solar in parallel using one C60, then you will have to wire the C60 in Diversion Mode. This is explained in the C60 Owner's Manual.
I also have posted many diagrams on the forum however i can never find them. Tom to the rescue again?
Here is some of what was given earlier. http://www.windynation.com/community/threads/basics.554/#post-4798 As far as wiring methods from leamy the thread link I found is gone. So unless Josh can find and restore it. Leamy will have to repost it. Here is the link that I can not access. http://www.windynation.com/community/threads/wiring-methods.381/
I am not sure what happenend to it. We would not delete it intentionally. The only thing I delete is all the spam that has been getting posted on the forum.
Ok update I reworked everything kept wind and solar separate used two three way marine switches one for wind one for solar 1 going to battery 2 going to grid tie, used a ( windy nation) diode on solar and (windy nation) self reset cir brk with wind then to batt everything seems to be working good, but I still get a ground fault on my inverter when I plug in line to house? If plug in anything else works fine. If I take everything off batt inverter works with house line?
Try seperating the neutrals on your line voltage vs your back up power. Give your back up circuits a neutral and hot from only the inverter and see if that works first? This may work also with your ground. Give the inverter it's own ground, take it to a seperate ground rod not attached to the main house grounding in any way.Only use that ground to ground your inverter/ back up circuits. Just a suggestion.
Update I put a disconnect on everything going to ground I disconnect ground and pos from charge controller and inverter works agian thanks everyone for the help
Gald to help. You ground -green wires- bare should always be connected just permentally seperated AC ground and DC ground. Are you disconnecting the neutrals you mean? Good luck.
I am disconnecting the charge controller pos and neg when using the inverter only. When not using the inverter I I turn both cutoff switches on and let the charge controller do its job . Ok setup for now after I grow system and more solar and upgrade wind I plan on getting a Xantrex freedom SW inverter or somthing in that class.
