    I like it!

Where did you buy that 2:1 gear? And what kind of power do you get in 10 mph and 15 mph wind? Thanks - PD

i actually made the 2:1 gear from an old bicycle. i used the shaft and bearing assembly from the pedals. removed the pedals. the shaft is 5/8" with a flat spot for the set screws which is perfect for the 5/8" arbor sold here. used a 36 tooth sprocket for the blades and a 18 tooth sprocket for the motor. the next time i take down the wind turbine, i plan to use a smaller sprocket on the motor maybe 14 or 12 tooth to get more rpm.

started to build my next wind turbine with a bigger motor and the new windgrabber blades. i'll post a video when i am done.
