Hi All, Thought I'd share a few pics of my 2 projects that I've been working on. First, I have 8 Dupont Appollo thin-films grid-tied connected with a Sunny Boy 700 Inverter, connected and feeding into the Grid since 02/01/2011. I also have one UL Solar panel connected to 4 golf cart batteries. This "off-grid" system provides power to one of two salt water aquariums. I've just hoisted and put in place a 400 watt Ghost Wind turbine. I'm getting ready to connect it to the battery bank in the next day or two. It will have 2 of the 300 wattWindyNation load diversions connected to the 100 amp charge controller I just got, also from Windy Nation. Once its up and running with the 1 panel, they will both provide enough power to two salt water aquariums, and thus removing them from the house power grid. Captain ;-) SE Ohio
Great Capt! Thanks for sharing! You must have some monster aquariums. What are their kWh needs per day?
Nice. I imagine large aquarium pumps are real energy suckers? What kind of amp draw is there one those pumps? Thanks for the photos and info.
could you make a little drawing of your solar bracket? or take a pic underneath? are thoes 2x4? and whats underneath, holding them in?
