aloha, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a grid tie solution for my 500 watt windy, 3 phase turbine? I didn't want to use batteries and connect directly to the grid, but I think I have to use batteries. any help is appreciated Aloha Nate
Pehea 'oe? Nate, There are several direct grid tie inverters on the market. I purchased a programmable one designed in Holland and manufactured in the Netherlands called SWEA. It is rated up to 1000 Watts, but seems to fit well with the Windy 500. There are many post in this forum (pros and cons) about the SWEA inverter. I purchased another one (not programmable) from China that I haven't tested yet, but it looks promising. Both unit can plug directly into a wall outlet, but neither unit is UL rated yet. The SWEA unit is going through UL testing as we speak. Using different chips, it can also be used with solar panels as a direct tie to your house without batteries. If you have specific questions, email me, or you can read more at http://www.SWEA.NL Mahalo for your question. 'A'ole pilikia, BeachBum
