I have a windura500, that came with a three blade wind grabber. My top speed on most days is about 12 mph (avg). I also have a five blade turbo Torque which gets going faster but seems like the same amount of charge in the end. I have heard on the forum that a five blade wind graber might get going faster and work out better. What are your thoughts? What is the expected cut in RPM on the 500?
I would definitely not use the turbotorque blades on the Windtura 500. They lack the length and power to properly turn the Windtura 500. Five WindGrabber blades will definitely help in low wind conditions but will make less power in high winds compared to three WindGrabber blades.
For the 750 Turbine Kit with an average windspeed of approx 8mph (Atlantic coast), would you recommend the 5-blade rotor or the three 35 inch WindGrabber Blades that come with the kit?
If the average wind speed in your area is 8 mph, I would recommend not purchasing any wind turbine. It does not make economic sense. You live in an extremely low wind area and will produce very little power. If the average wind speed in your area is 10-12 mph, then it starts to make sense. Personally, I would recommend 3 windgrabber blades but other may have a different opinion. My advice is based off of testing both blades sets on our test vehicle.
